[Jasper's Marmot Basin Ski Resort] Ski Jasper's Marmot Basin

Skiing Fun at Marmot Basin

Whatever you do, take your cameras and camcorders to Jasper, a town of 4,500 located in the middle of Canada's largest national park. You will be awestruck at the gorgeous view in just about any direction that you choose to look! Elk and deer wander freely about this pretty little community which is surrounded by some of the most beautiful mountains in the world, the majestic Rockies. Just 22 kilometers (14 miles) to the south is Marmot Basin Resort, a skiing mecca blended into this magnificent mountain scenery. While not as rugged as Lake Louise or as high as Sunshine to the south, Marmot can provide some of the best light dry powder skiing in the Rockies. It is often described as an excellent all-round mountain offering 850 acres of skiable terrain and 897 meters (2,944 feet) of vertical.

There is steep pitch skiing for those who wish to climb beyond the top lift and below, a mix of both treed and treeless slopes, bowls and glades, a terrific run combination for high speed giant slalom cruising. You have a choice of 52 runs but you never seem to lack new terrain to explore. Take a moment in your run to stop and marvel at the mountain scenery, an experience you will not forget.

Marmot Basin does not have on site accomodation but there are many interesting places to stay in Jasper including Chateau Jasper, the Jasper Inn, the Lobstick and Marmot Lodges, the Pyramid Lake Bungalows and several hotels. A Ski World number is available for bookings at 1-403-852-4242.
